Reading Group
Since April 2020, the Arabic Reading Group has been meeting online. All welcome!
Please, contact Dr Acevedo (juan.acevedo@fc.ul.pt) to join the weekly sessions.
Within the specific context of the ERC RUTTER Project, and more broadly of the study of Medieval Arabic Science and Philosophy, an Arabic Reading Group will be open to the general public from Wednesday 4 March. The weekly sessions will last approximately 90 minutes and will be run by Dr Juan Acevedo.
A basic knowledge of written Arabic is required to attend.
We are currently reading al-Sirafi’s, al-Ṣaḥīḥ min akhbār al-biḥār wa-‘ajā’ibihā, a collection of 10th-century tales related to seafaring.
